Wood Street’s Best Kept Secret

Chocolate cupcakes topped with sprinkles on a glass plate, with a floral arrangement in a green pitcher in the background.

“I never expected to find a café in here!”

The exclamation we hear the most. It’s true, we are hidden away from the chaos of Wood Street, but this adds to the charm and the cosiness of The Old Station Yard Café. Being off the beaten track has the added advantage of free on site parking.

You can enjoy book club dinners, full English breakfasts, pop-up suppers, lunch clubs, afternoon teas and even hire for catering and small scale events. You can savour hearty, traditional meals made from scratch in our toasty, family-run café!

What's On
Vintage tea set with a teapot, a sugar bowl, and three matching cups and saucers on a wooden table in a cozy room with fairy lights. The leftovers from afternoon tea in Walthamstow's secret café.

Tea and Cake O’Clock!

Nowadays there are plenty of spots for pastries and specialty coffee around London, so we cater to those who are after a slice of cake and a cuppa’. We have some delicious staple cakes, like our very popular gluten free lime, coconut, blueberry, and polenta cake.

We don’t offer flat whites and oat lattes, but you can stop at The Old Station Yard Café for a pot of almond and cherry rooibos tea, or try our loose leaf tea of the month that comes on special offer with a slice of homemade cake.

For an extra special treat, you can book an afternoon tea, composed of homemade treats and served on our vintage china!

Tea Menu
A plate of breakfast food including scrambled eggs, two sausages, sliced tomato, sautéed spinach, mushrooms, and a piece of fried fish or chicken.

The Home of the Homemade

A trio of a mother, daughter and a nonna, we enjoy weaving our Nigerian and Italian heritage into our menu. The Old Station Yard Café is all about providing delicious food that is made with love and at affordable prices in a hidden corner of Walthamstow.
